Prior to launching their Bay Wealth Legal Group, LLP, Quynh and Mary collaborated closely together as partners in the Estate Planning, Trusts and Wealth Transfer Group of Carr McClellan Ingersoll Thompson & Horn.
Quynh has been in private practice for over 18 years (Stanford University; UCLA School of Law), and Mary has been in private practice for over 13 years (Harvard Law School). Each of them is a State Bar of California Certified Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. They have extensive experience representing individuals, families and entrepreneurs, including ultra high net worth clients, in all matters of estate planning, trust/estate administration and wealth transfer, including:

- Irrevocable trust planning, including life insurance trusts (ILITs), grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), education trusts, and other gift trusts to transfer wealth in a tax-efficient manner;
- Planning for clients with closely held business interests and/or extensive real property holdings;
- Planning for blended families (e.g. second marriages with children from prior marriage);
- Entity planning, including the design and implementation of partnerships and limited liability companies;
- Planning for clients involving cross-border tax issues; and
- Advising clients on post mortem matters involving probate, trust, and estate administration.
Quynh also has extensive knowledge in the area of exempt organizations, and she counsels numerous clients on the optimum methods of attaining charitable giving goals, including through the establishment of charitable trusts, public charities and private foundations, and on all related legal matters, including corporate governance issues and private foundation rules. Quynh also advises non-governmental organizations (NGOs) engaging in philanthropic work overseas.
